Woman unleashes racist tirade on LA County deputy during traffic stop in San Dimas

LOS ANGELES — A woman unleashed a racist tirade on a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop in San Dimas.

The incident began when a sheriff’s deputy pulled over a white Mercedes-Benz after officials say they spotted the driver on her cellphone.

“Yes, I started to record because you’re a murderer,” the woman is heard telling the deputy as he approaches her vehicle, video of the encounter shows.

When the deputy tells her she can’t use her phone while driving, she responds by saying she was recording because he scared her.

As the confrontation escalates, she asks for his supervisor — while proceeding to call him “murderer” again multiple times.

“You’re threatening to kill me and my son,” she then adds at one point throughout the encounter.

Video eventually shows the supervisor arrive at the scene.

“He’s only citing you for using your cellphone while you’re driving, that’s it,” the supervisor tells the woman.

“For him being a Mexican racist. … Here you go, Mexican racist,” she tells the deputy as she returns a pen after signing a citation.

“You’re always going to be a Mexican. You’ll never be white, you know that, right? You’ll never be white, which is what you really want to be. You want to be white,” she adds.

After the encounter, the woman called the department and filed a personal complaint against the deputy, alleging “discourtesy,” according to a sheriff’s statement.

“An active inquiry is being conducted,” the statement read.

The complaint led to the deputy releasing the body cam footage for his own protection.
