LICKING COUNTY, Ohio — A man was killed after a tree he was cutting down fell on him in Licking County, crushing him to death.
Video of the incident shows 64-year-old Clifford Mitchell using a chainsaw to cut down a tree on his property — when the tree fell on him, trapping him underneath and crushing him dead.
The Licking County Sheriff’s Office said officials were called to the 8700 block of Linnville Southeast Road in Newark at around 2:30pm Monday.
Mitchell’s wife found him unresponsive and called 911.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
