CAPE TOWN, South Africa — Police are investigating a mass shooting in Happy Valley, Blackheath, that left 3 people dead and another critically wounded late Friday night.
According to officials, four people were shot in Azania Crescent in Blackheath, with three victims pronounced dead at the scene. The fourth victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
Authorities say the motive appears to be gang-related. No arrests have been made at this time. Police have cordoned off the area and forensic teams are collecting evidence.
Residents told local media the gunfire erupted suddenly and lasted several minutes. Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
