PENNSYLVANIA — A man shot and killed two of his neighbors following a fight that stemmed over snow shoveling in Plains Township, surveillance video shows.
Jeffrey Spaide, 47, fatally shot his neighbors, James Goy and his wife, Lisa Goy, before killing himself on Monday morning, according to the DA’s office.
Shortly before 9am, Plains Township police officers responded to a report of shots fired when they found the victims lying dead in the street in front of their home, prosecutors said.
Police later heard a gun fire from Spaide’s house and determined this to be his self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to prosecutors.
“The Goys were shoveling the snow from their parking spots, shoveling the snow across the road, and throwing the snow onto Spaide’s property,” neighbors told investigators in a statement.
Spaide asked the couple to stop, sparking a heated exchange of words, neighbors said.
James Goy apparently threw a tool at Spaide that he had been using to remove snow from his car, according to the statement.
When James Goy approached Spaide with a raised fist, Spaide reportedly retreated into his house and grabbed a gun, officials said.
Surveillance video revealed that Spaide opened fire on the couple, shooting both of them multiple times before running back into his house and retrieving another firearm, which he reportedly used to shoot them again.
