6 presumed dead after cargo ship collides with Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore: video
Six people are presumed dead after a cargo ship collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, according to video and reports.
Eight people were on the bridge when it fell, according to officials. At least two people were rescued — one was taken to the hospital and has been discharged.
The Coast Guard has been searching for the six other people. But, around 7:30 p.m. ET, the Coast Guard said it has transitioned to a “different phase” of operation, now that they “do not believe we are going to find any of these individuals alive.”
The bridge collapsed after a cargo ship, known as the Dali, struck the bridge early Tuesday, destroying the steel structure in a matter of seconds
Multiple vehicles also went into the water, although authorities said they did not believe anyone was inside.
