8 people burned following antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado

On June 1, 2025, a violent attack occurred at the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado, during a peaceful march organized by “Run for Their Lives,” a group advocating for the release of Israeli hostages.

The assailant, identified as 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman, allegedly used a makeshift flamethrower and Molotov cocktails to target the demonstrators, injuring eight individuals aged between 52 and 88, with one victim in critical condition.

Witnesses reported that Soliman shouted phrases such as “Free Palestine” and “End Zionist!” during the assault.

Soliman, an Egyptian national who had overstayed his visa and was residing in Colorado Springs, was apprehended at the scene and is facing multiple felony charges, including federal hate crime allegations. The FBI is treating the incident as a targeted act of terrorism.

The attack has prompted increased security measures at Jewish events in the area and has been widely condemned by officials and community leaders. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities seeking additional information from the public.
