Altercation between two women escalates into deadly shooting in North Austin: video

AUSTIN, Texas – A homicide investigation is underway after an altercation between two people escalated into a deadly shooting in North Austin.

Video revealed what happened during the shooting that unfolded in the 900 block of East Braker Lane at around 1:40 a.m. in a parking lot in the area.

The owner of Michelobos, a business in the area, said that the incident began as an altercation between two women. 

At some point, the altercation escalated to a shooting between two men. 

“His friend was not trying to let him get the gun at first, but then he just snatched it out of his homeboy’s hand and that’s when everything happened,” the man said.

The man is seen in the video with his arm extended, gun in hand, walking towards another man.

Nine gun shots are heard in the video and a man falls to the ground.

About five seconds later, “security came up behind the dude, like the dude didn’t even see it coming,” the man said.

Eleven gun shots are heard in the video and the original shooter hits the ground.

One man died at the scene and another was critically injured.

Austin police said two people have been detained.
