Bodycam video released shows Edmond officer stabbed during traffic stop

EDMOND, Okla. — On May 1, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma, a routine traffic stop escalated into a violent confrontation when a police officer was stabbed.

Body camera footage released by the Edmond Police Department shows Officer Caleb Hodam approaching the vehicle and engaging in conversation with the driver.

Police said the driver that Hodam pulled over was not the aggressor, but 22-year-old Ocean Hudson was.

Hudson lunged at the officer with a knife, stabbing him.

Hodam managed to retreat and call for backup, shouting, “He just stabbed me!”

Responding officers arrived promptly, and Hudson was apprehended after a brief struggle.

Hodam was transported to a local hospital, treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
