CHINA: Two officers drown while saving boy from high speed water canal

CHINA — Two officers drowned while saving a boy who had fallen in a high speed water canal in China.

Video of the incident shows three men in police uniforms and another boy run after a child who is carried away by the strong current of the water canal.

Two of the officers jump into the water and manage to rescue the boy. But the law enforcement officers themselves now become trapped of the high speed current.

At the end of the video, two uniformed officers disappear into the water.

The incident reportedly took place in Artush, a county-level city and the capital of the Kyrgyz autonomous prefecture of Kizilsu in Xinjiang, China.
