Memphis, TN — A civilian driver let a Memphis Police Department officer hop in his car mid-chase to help catch a fleeing suspect.
The officer had been chasing 31-year-old Christopher Green, who was wanted on felony property theft charges, but got winded during the pursuit. That’s when the officer waved down a passing car and asked, “Can I hop in with you?”
The civilian agreed, and the ride was filmed from inside the vehicle. The officer caught his breath in the backseat, scanned the area, then jumped out again near another officer to continue the chase.
Despite the teamwork, the suspect got away.
