Colorado Springs police investigate shooting after road-rage dispute on Austin Bluffs Parkway

Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Thursday evening along Austin Bluffs Parkway near North Academy Boulevard.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 4200 block of Austin Bluffs Parkway. Surveillance footage and witness accounts suggest the shooting followed a road‑rage confrontation involving a gray Subaru and another vehicle that allegedly cut it off near a car meet location.

At least one person was struck in the arm and transported to a hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening wounds.

The suspect was later identified by police as 29‑year‑old Michael Brodus, who was arrested near Powers Boulevard and Briargate Parkway and now faces first-degree assault charges.

Eastbound lanes of Austin Bluffs were shut down for nearly three hours while officers processed the crime scene.
