Delivery driver slugged in the face and robbed from scooter in the Bronx

NEW YORK — New video released by police shows the moment a delivery driver was slugged in the face and robbed from his scooter during a robbery in the Bronx.

The assault took place at approximately 10:30am on December 7 in Mott Haven, the NYPD said.

One of the suspects, who was riding a bike, approached the 46-year-old victim stopped at a red light.

Moments later, a second male suspect on foot also approached the delivery driver — before punching the man in the face multiple times who fell to the ground, police said.

The second suspect then took the driver’s scooter and both offenders fled the scene of the crime.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for a contusion to the lip as well as bruising and swelling to his face.

Police said the delivery driver’s scooter was valued at $850. The victim’s phone and $450 in cash placed in the vehicle’s storage compartment were also stolen during the robbery.
