HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. — Bodycam video released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department shows the moments deputies shot and killed a man armed with knives during a domestic disturbance on July 31.
Deputies were called around 4 p.m. to a home on Sigman Avenue after reports that a man was assaulting a woman with a knife. When they arrived, deputies said they could hear screaming from inside the home.
According to Lt. Daniel Vizcarra of the LASD’s Homicide Bureau, deputies entered and found a man armed with two large knives. The newly released video shows deputies confronting the suspect just before opening fire.
The man was taken to a hospital where he later died. No other injuries were reported.
