Disabled woman beaten with cooking pot and robbed from her walker in Harlem

NEW YORK — Police are searching for four suspects caught on video beating a disabled woman — before fleeing with her cash and her walker in Harlem.

The attack unfolded at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 151st Street shortly after 8:00pm Tuesday, police said.

The 61-year-old woman, who uses a walker to get around, got into a dispute with three women and a man at the location, police said.

The suspects then approached the victim, pushed her to the ground and started punching her repeatedly, kicking and stomping on her as she laid on the ground.

A female suspect is also seen beating the disabled victim with a cooking pot, surveillance videos shows.

The group then fled with the woman’s walker, her bag containing about $22 and credit cards, police said.

The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital for her injuries and was listed in stable condition.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
