A dog is dead after it was hung by a group of teenagers who then proceeded to hit it with an axe in Russia.
“A brutal video shows a teenager hanging a live dog on a rope. The animal whines pitifully, and children’s giggles are heard in the background.
Presumably, the video was filmed in the village of Kotik in the Tulunsky District.
Police officers have already gone there to establish whether local children really abused the dog, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Irkutsk Region told IrCity.
The teenager who tortures the animal sits on the roof of a barn. At the beginning of the video, he is shown lifting the dog from the ground with a noose around its neck. The video lasts five minutes. Other teenagers try to stop what is happening, but not very convincingly.
“No, Vanya, let go,” says the voice behind the camera and continues laughing.
The boy continues to strangle the dog, pulling on the rope, the animal whines without stopping.
“Come on, let go of the rope, let him breathe,” says the voiceover.
“No,” the teenager answers.
“Please let her go,” someone else asks. “Don’t you feel sorry for her?”
- She’s still breathing! – says, probably, the author of the video. At this moment, the dog begins to wriggle in the loop.
The teenager holding the animal on a rope was asked to let it go several times. But it did not react. The dog tried to free itself for a long time, being suspended, to which the author of the video eventually stated that the noose should have been tightened tighter around the neck. And this same teenager also calls everything that happened an experiment.
At the end of the video, the boy who was hanging the dog on a rope took an axe and hit the still-living animal several times on its body.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that no reports of animal cruelty had been received by the duty unit, but an investigation into the published video was underway.
The investigative task force, juvenile affairs officers, and district police officers went to Kotik to establish all the circumstances of the incident. The identities of the teenagers captured on the video are being established. Measures will be taken based on the results of the investigation.”
