Footage captured the moment two Jewish mothers and a baby were struck by a car while walking through an intersection in New York City.
Two women, aged 62 and 56, along with a 1-year-old boy, were injured on Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a reckless driver as they crossed Nostrand Avenue at Kings Highway in Brooklyn.
At around 2.45pm Tuesday afternoon, two women pushing strollers, one of them holding a child’s hand, were captured on video as they began to cross the road – the signal ahead of them clearly showing that it should have been safe to walk.
But in a matter of seconds, a 2014 black Toyota minivan refused to slow down at the red light – making a right turn directly into them.
Horrifying footage captured the moment the women attempted to scramble away as they realized the SUV was coming, but unfortunately couldn’t get out of the way in time.
The 69-year-old driver of the car rammed into the group – sending the two mothers along with one of the strollers to the ground and underneath the car.
The second stroller was seen rolling across the remainder of the intersection as a young girl appeared to run back into the frame and back to the safety of the sidewalk.
Emergency responders took the injured to Maimonides Medical Center where they were said to be in stable condition.
