Father shot dead in front of his children during robbery attempt in Pakistan

KARACHI, Pakistan — A 25-year-old father was shot and killed in front of his two young children during a robbery attempt in Orangi Town’s Nishan-e-Haider area.

The victim, Muhammad Sajjad, had traveled from Faisalabad to Karachi just three days earlier to visit his in-laws. According to police, two armed men on a motorcycle tried to snatch Sajjad’s mobile phone at gunpoint. When he resisted, one of the attackers fired at point-blank range, striking him in the chest.

CCTV footage shows Sajjad standing at the doorway of his in-laws’ home with one child in his arms and another by his side. The gunmen confronted him, pushed him, and opened fire. Sajjad collapsed instantly as one of the children ran inside in fear.

Police said the shooter’s face was clearly visible in the footage, and teams are working to track down the suspects.

Sajjad’s body has been taken to Faisalabad for burial. Relatives and neighbors condemned the attack, highlighting the worsening trend of violent street robberies in Karachi. According to reports, more than 65 people have been killed in the city this year for resisting robberies.
