Fight breaks out in Meijer parking lot following road rage incident in Michigan

MICHIGAN — A fight broke out at a Meijer parking lot in Van Buren Township following an alledged road rage incident, police said.

Video of the fight has since gone viral on social media, and was first believed to depict an attempted abduction — the man wearing a hat is the father of the little girl seen standing between both males througout the video.

But police say it all started when both men were on the road.

Police say the suspect was mad because the victim was apparently driving too close. When they pulled into the Meijer parking lot, the suspect went after the father and punched him in the back of the head as he held his little girl in his arms.

The suspect eventually took off but was later apprehended by Van Buren Township Police.

While placing him under arrest, police uncovered hundreds of dollars worth in stolen merchandise from another Meijer store.

The suspect will be charged with assault and theft.
