Fight breaks out between passengers on Frontier Airline flight

MIAMI, Florida — A fight broke out at Miami International Airport as passengers were trying to exit a Frontier Airlines flight from Philadelphia.

Kiera Pierre Louis, who captured the incident on video, told Local 10 News one passenger became upset when the other passenger in front of him was ‘taking too long’ to remove his bags from the overhead bins.

Pierre Louis said that’s when the first passenger called the other passenger a racial slur and then punched him.

“I couldn’t believe what was going on,” she said.

“You can see the white man on top of the black passenger and just beating him between the seats. The flight attendant got involved, the white man’s wife got involved, his son, I believe his son’s girlfriend, um, everyone was just involved.”

Several people including a Frontier flight attendant intervene and eventually separate the pair.

Pierre Louis said the confrontation was racially motivated after the white passenger, who she said started the fight, was allowed to leave the plane while the black passenger was told to stay behind.

“Racism, of course, she said. “The black passenger had to wait on the plane, when he didn’t even start it, and the police, while we were walking off the plane, walked right past the person, the white man who actually initiated everything.”

However, Miami-Dade Police said the black passenger was not held back and instead chose to stay behind on the plane so he could file a police report.

He ultimately decided not to press charges and the other passenger who allegedly started the brawl was allowed to leave.
