BANGKOK, Thailand — Five people were killed and one wounded in a mass shooting at Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok’s Bang Sue district on Monday afternoon, according to Thai police.
The shooting occurred around 12:31 p.m. local time. All five of the deceased victims were security guards working at the market. The suspected gunman died by suicide at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the motive and working to identify the suspect. Police are also exploring any possible connection to ongoing border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia. Surveillance footage shows the shooter wearing a black T-shirt, camouflage shorts, a cap, and a backpack worn across his chest.
