Florida driver cited after plowing into school bus in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Florida — A Florida driver was cited after crashing into the back of a school bus and becoming wedged underneath it in a collision caught on camera.

The crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said the black Jaguar failed to slow down as the bus, with its flashing lights activated, approached a bus stop.

Video shows the Jaguar slam into the rear of the bus, sliding underneath it. Authorities said there were no students on board at the time. The bus driver was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. It is unclear whether the Jaguar driver was hurt.

The motorist was cited for following too closely.
