Florida man arrested after attempted kidnapping caught on surveillance video
A 31-year-old man, Michael Tundidor, was arrested after he was caught on surveillance video violently trying to force a woman into a pickup truck outside a business in St. Augustine, Florida, on June 29.
According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO), the incident began when Tundidor committed a robbery inside the store. He then dragged the female employee outside and attempted to shove her into his truck. The woman resisted and was able to attract the attention of a bystander who intervened and called 911.
Tundidor fled the scene but was later located by Florida Fish and Wildlife officers driving recklessly on A1A near Marineland. He attempted to flee again but was ultimately apprehended.
Tundidor faces multiple charges including kidnapping, robbery, grand theft auto, DUI, and fleeing law enforcement.
Authorities praised the woman’s quick thinking and offered public safety tips, stressing the importance of situational awareness, trusting instincts, and fighting back if necessary.
