A former soldier died after he was shot during a robbery in Dominican Republic.
“An alleged robbery incident ended in a fatality, when a former military man lost vital signs at the time he was going to receive medical attention at a health center in Baní.
The incident occurred this Sunday in the Brisas del Norte sector, in front of a primary school located behind the La Sirena store, where they approached 46-year-old William Rodríguez Arias, a resident of the North sector of Baní, who was severely injured and stripped of his his firearm by two individuals traveling on a motorcycle.
Despite being transferred to the Nuestra Señora de Regla Hospital, he unfortunately died while receiving emergency medical care after having received several undesirables.
According to reports, the former military man was on his motorcycle when he was ambushed by the assailants, who shot him and stole his firearm.
The National Police, under the direction of the rapid action team and Dicrim, led by Colonel Yudith Almonte, collected evidence and reviewed security cameras in the area to begin a thorough investigation into this violent incident.
The body of William Rodríguez Arias was transferred to the Regional Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in the province of Azua for the corresponding procedures.”
