Four people are dead after a fire broke out inside an apartment complex in China Wednesday.
The tragedy took place shortly before 3pm local time inside an apartment located on the tenth floor of a residential building in Dalian city, Liaoning Province, according to local reports.
Harrowing video posted to social media shows a man on the edge of a window, and a second man coming out of a patio door. That second man manages to make it to safety, landing on a window below. The first man seated on the edge of the window tries dropping onto a railing below, but unfortunately falls all the way to the ground and to his death, the footage shows.
Authorities said in total two people fell from the building to their deaths trying to escape the flames while two others died burned in the fire.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway.
