Gas station clerk shot in the face in Houston video shows
HOUSTON — Video released by police shows the moment a Houston gas station clerk was shot in the face without warning.
The shooting took place shortly after 9:30pm Monday at the Chevron station in the 8600 block of Memorial Drive.
Houston police say the suspect walked into the store and immediately shot the clerk in the face and hand.
The clerk tried to flee, but the suspect punched him in the face repeatedly, police said. The suspect then tried taking money from the cash register but was unable to open it.
The victim finally managed to escape his assailant, and was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to survive, according to police.
The suspect is described as a Black man between 25 to 35 years of age, weighing between 230 and 280 pounds, and standing at about six feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and tan pants before fleeing the scene of the crime in a black two-door Mercedes Benz.
