Georgia nurse arrested for twerking on heads of disabled patients in viral videos
A Georgia healthcare worker was arrested on a felony charge Tuesday after she allegedly posted a viral video online of her dancing provocatively over a disabled patient at their home, police said.
Lucrecia Kormassa Koiyan, 19, is charged with one count of exploitation of a disabled person in connection to the reported incident in Loganville, which was filmed and posted on social media, according to the Loganville Police Department and online records.
The city is about 35 miles northeast of Atlanta.
In a news release, Loganville police Chief M.D. Lowry wrote his agency was tipped off about the disturbing video on Jan. 23.
Lowry said that Koiyan was working as an in-home adult daycare employee during the alleged crime.
The circumstances and licensure of the business she works for, the chief said, are part of the ongoing investigation.
“I was appalled and disgusted that anyone would create such a video featuring a disabled person,” Lowry said Wednesday morning. “As police officers, our highest duty is to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and my detectives worked as swiftly as possible to bring charges in this incident.”
According to a statement from the chief, detectives opened an investigation and, on Tuesday morning, executed a search warrant and arrested Koiyan of Loganville.
Koiyan was booked into the Walton County Jail.
