MACON, Ga. – A Georgia woman is facing charges after video showed her dragging a child by her hair in Macon.
27-year-old Samrria Mona White was charged with first-degree cruelty to children on Wednesday.
According to a neighbor, their children were playing at White’s pool, but White got angry and sent everyone home.
The neighbor then says they spotted White chasing her daughter down the road.
“In the shocking video, which was also posted to social media, the woman is seen striking the child in the face several times,” the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook.
White can then be seen dragging her daughter by the hair through the grass, the video further shows.
Deputies report that White initially rejected the allegations, but was told the incident was captured on video and was then taken into custody.
Medics said White’s daughter had redness that was beginning to bruise on her chest. She was taken to a local hospital for examination.
As of Thursday evening, White was being held at the Bibb County Jail on a $2,000 bond.
DFCS has been informed of the situation.
