Graphic video: Adam Johnson dies in freak accident after getting neck slit by ice skate during hockey game
Graphic video shows the moment former NHL hockey player Adam Johnson died after getting his neck slit by another player’s ice skate during a fatal collision over the weekend.
Johnson was playing for the Nottingham Panthers in a Challenge Cup game against the Sheffield Steelers when he suffered the skate cut during the second period of the Elite Ice Hockey League game at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena.
The Panthers issued a statement saying the team was “truly devastated to announce that Adam Johnson has tragically passed away following a freak accident” Sunday.
Johnson, a Minnesota native, played 13 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins, registering one goal and three assists.
