NEW YORK – Graphic video shows the moment activist and poet Ryan Carson was randomly stabbed to death in front of his girlfriend in Brooklyn.
Surveillance video shows Ryan Carson, 32, sitting on a bus stop bench in Bedford-Stuyvesant while talking with his girlfriend as the two made their way home from a wedding on Long Island just before 4 a.m. Monday.
Carson and the young woman, dressed in a blue gown, get up and begin to walk down the block, in the same direction as a man in a dark sweatshirt who had just strolled past them at the B38 bus stop, with his hood up over his head and his hands in his pockets.
The video shows the stranger starting to kick scooters parked close to the curb a few feet in front of them for no apparent reason.
The man then abruptly turns to Carson and says, “What the f–k are you looking at?”
Carson — who replied that he wasn’t looking at anything — then stepped between his girlfriend and the unhinged man, who began to advance on the couple.
The man yells, “I’ll kill you!” as Carson begs him to calm down.
However, the attacker pursues Carson, pulling a knife, as his girlfriend, running up behind them, is heard frantically yelling, “Please, please, please!”
As he runs, Carson trips over the bench the couple was seated on earlier.
The victim’s girlfriend follows them as the attacker viciously stabs him in the chest several times after grabbing his jacket and throwing him to the ground.
As Carson curls up on the ground, he turns back to face the frightened woman, who reaches up to stop him.
The man spits on her before kicking Carson and storming off while still holding the knife.
Then, an unidentified woman can be seen yelling at the man, “Don’t hurt him!” and repeating what sounds like the name “Brian” or “Bryan”.
According to police sources, the woman and the suspect knew one another before the killing.
The same woman walks up to Carson, who is still lying on the sidewalk, and says, “I’m so sorry!”
Carson’s girlfriend points to the attacker and tells the woman to “go watch him.”
“I’m going to dial 911,” she says.
The girlfriend is seen in the video gently moving Carson’s arm that had been dangling over his face.
Carson was taken to Kings County Hospital Center, but to no avail.
A stab wound had penetrated her his heart.
By Tuesday afternoon, no one had been taken into custody in connection with the horrific attack.
The murder weapon, which sources claimed the suspect first threw in a pile of trash before quickly returning to get it, has not been found by investigators.
