Local rapper WopBlock J4 executed outside rival’s apartment in St. Louis: video
ST. LOUIS, Missouri — A 19-year-old rapper was shot and killed after walking up to a rival’s apartment and knocking on the door in broad daylight, with the entire incident captured on surveillance video.
The shooting happened February 28, 2026, in the Peabody Darst Webbe neighborhood. Video shows WopBlock J4 dressed in all black, approaching the unit while holding his phone. He appears unarmed as he knocks several times.
Seconds later, gunfire erupts from inside the residence. The rapper collapses on the porch after being hit multiple times. The person believed to be responsible has been identified online as rival “Slapperson,” though authorities have not officially confirmed that identification.
The footage shows the full sequence clearly in daylight and has since spread rapidly online, fueling reactions across the St. Louis rap scene.
Officers responded to the 1200 block of South 13th Street, directly across from Peabody Elementary School, and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the killing may be tied to ongoing rivalries within the local drill scene. WopBlock J4 maintained close ties with artist Mo P and the 1448 crew, which has clashed with affiliates from the French Town set.
One person is currently in custody for questioning, while homicide detectives continue to pursue leads.
No formal charges have been announced. The investigation remains ongoing.
