Madera County Sheriff’s Office releases bodycam video of shooting that left Artemio Alfaro dead in Fresno
FRESNO, California — The Madera County Sheriff’s Office released bodycam video of a deputy-involved shooting that left Artemio Alfaro dead on April 29, 2020.
Alfaro, a felon wanted on multiple charges including robbery, domestic violence and violating probation — led deputies on a high-speed chase at speeds up to 110 miles per hour.
Alfaro eventually stopped near Avenue 6 and Road 20 and tried to flee on foot.
Deputies used a K9 to try and apprehend him, but he managed to get back in his vehicle.
Artemio Alfaro began backing up his vehicle and knocked over a deputy, prompting an officer-involved shooting.
He was declared dead at the scene.
