Man arrested after stealing ex-girlfriend’s pet chicken

KITSAP COUNTY, Wash.- A man was arrested after allegedly stealing his ex-girlfriend’s pet chicken, according to police.

According to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, a woman called 911 and said her ex-boyfriend kicked in her door, grabbed her chicken and yelled, “I’ve got Polly,” before running off.

Police found the man and the chicken in the woods. He appeared to be unarmed but was confronted at gunpoint by police.

Deputies let him put the chicken in the back of a patrol car before taking him into custody.

He was booked on charges of residential burglary and violating a protection order.

The 50-year-old man had already been in police custody earlier that day and was released just three hours before allegedly stealing the chicken.
