Man arrested in random sucker-punch attack on young woman in Turkey

After punching a young girl walking on the sidewalk in Kahramanmaraş, the suspect, who was arrested, stated in his testimony that he mistook the young girl for his ex-girlfriend and attacked her in a moment of anger.

According to the information obtained, the incident occurred on January 16 in the Pazarcık district, where 23-year-old Nisa Akdere was attacked by an unknown person while walking on the sidewalk. After the incident, the young girl was taken to the hospital and received a report of the assault.

She filed a complaint against Y.E.Y., the person who attacked her, and the attacker was caught as a result of the team’s efforts. After his procedures at the courthouse, Y.E.Y. was released to be tried without detention under judicial control, but was re-arrested by the police.

Y.E.Y., who was taken into custody, was sent to the courthouse after his statement was taken. The suspect was arrested by the Duty Magistrate Court to which he was sent.

It was learned that the attacker Y.E.Y. stated in his testimony that he mistook the young girl for his ex-girlfriend and attacked her in a moment of anger, expressing regret for his actions.
