Man holding baby in his arms mistakenly beat down by cops in Wisconsin Applebee’s

WISCONSIN – A man holding a baby in his arm was mistakenly beaten by cops in Kenosha as the real hit-and-run culprits hid in the bathroom.

Cellphone video shows Kenosha police officers arresting a man holding a baby inside an Applebee’s, who they believed was involved in a hit-and-run crash.

The incident happened July 20 inside the Applebee’s on Highway 50.

Police said they were responding to a serious hit-and-run crash just down the road and they believed the suspects were in the restaurant.

Police said witnesses of the crash described the suspects as two Black men and a woman carrying a child who ran toward the Applebee’s.

In a written statement, police claim employees directed them toward the man seen in the video.

Police said the man attempted to leave against officers’ orders and was restrained.

Officers can be seen repeatedly hitting the man, which has some in the Kenosha community outraged.

He has been charged with disorderly conduct and resisting and obstructing an officer.

The woman he was with was also arrested on the same charges and possession of marijuana.

Kenosha police did find the actual hit-and-run suspects hiding in a bathroom. They were also charged.
