SAN FRANCISCO – A man was shot and killed by police in San Francisco’s Bayview District Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting took place near the corner of Catalina Street and Fairfax Avenue.
SFPD officers were attempting to arrest another person when a man, appearing to be armed with something they say looked like a handgun, approached them, authorities said.
Officers shot the man, who was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
Wether the man killed had any connection with the other person SFPD officers were attempting to arrest is unclear at this time.
That person was later arrested.
An investigation is ongoing.
