Man shot in the head in Minneapolis’ Midtown Phillips

MINNESOTA — A man is in critical condition after he was shot in the head early Easter Sunday morning in the Midtown Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis.

Ring surveillance camera captured the shooting.

At aound 12:30am Sunday, police responded to the area of 14th Avenue South and East 29th Street for the report of a man lying in the street.

Officers discovered a 45-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head.

The Ring doorbell security camera footage shows a black SUV driving through an alleyway before coming to a stop facing the roadway.

The victim then comes into view, walking down the street from left to right in front of the SUV — when a flash of light and a loud blast can be seen near the driver’s side window.

The SUV pulls away, its tires screeching as it turns right and races down the street, and the man falling to the ground lifeless, according to the video.

The man was rushed to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to investigators in Midtown Phillips, a vehicle fired a shot before racing away from the site.

The suspect is still being sought by police.
