Distressing video shows a man stabbing his sleeping 4-year-old son to get at his girlfriend after she broke up with him in Brazil.

“A man, whose name has not been released, stabbed his own son on Tuesday night (9/24) in the Calçada neighborhood of Salvador. Preliminary information indicates that he committed the crime after refusing to accept the end of his relationship with his partner.

After stabbing his son, the perpetrator also tried to take his own life. According to a statement from the Military Police, the man and the 4-year-old child were admitted to the Santo Antônio UPA, with stab wounds on Barão de Cotegipe Street, in Calçada.

Due to the severity of the injury, the child was taken to the State General Hospital (HGE), where he is hospitalized and will undergo surgery.

The man was taken to the Irmã Dulce Hospital. His health condition has not been released. The circumstances of the incident will be investigated by the Civil Police.”
