“A brutal attack was recorded in the Carmen de Apicalá municipality, in the department of Tolima, where a man stabbed his partner at least 43 times.
According to initial reports, the events occurred during a couple’s argument. The man pulled out a knife and attacked the woman.
Despite the seriousness of the knife attack, the victim survived and was taken to a medical center. According to information provided by Colonel Fabio Ojeda, commander of the Tolima Police Department, uniformed officers intervened quickly after being alerted by the community.
According to information, citizens who noticed the attack alerted the patrols that were monitoring the municipality when the attack was reported. The uniformed officers quickly approached and prevented the man from continuing to stab his partner.
During the intervention, the man fled the scene, but minutes later the police managed to arrest him and put him at the disposal of the competent authorities.
Meanwhile, the victim was under observation at a medical center, although her exact condition is unknown.”
