Meat packing plant employee kills pig that escaped with sledgehammer in Argentina

Shocking video shows a meat packing plant employee killing a pig that managed to escape with a sledgehammer in Argentina.

“In Cañada de Gómez, Santa Fe, a pig escaped from the refrigerator where it would later be slaughtered. Surprised, a worker chased it and decided to simplify his work in a way that caused disgust, since when he caught up with it, he killed it with a sledgehammer in full view of everyone.

It all happened on Monday, in the city of Santa Fe, where there is a large meat industry. Perhaps sensing its imminent end, the animal ran away in terror after a mistake by the slaughterhouse employees. Immediately after, the chase began in the middle of the public road.

Dressed in white, with his characteristic boots and apron, the worker did not hesitate to go out and hunt down the pig before it could get too far away. According to the video that is already circulating on social media, the man hit the pig on the head with a mallet, which left it lying down but still alive. He then continued with more blows, at least four, until he killed it.

The images were shared by the Cañada de Gómez Animal Protection and Health Association, which was responsible for making the case visible. The case quickly went viral and generated widespread condemnation among users.

For its part, the Municipality of Cañada de Gómez took action on the matter and issued a statement in the afternoon announcing measures. According to them, the Secretary of Government, Luciano Travaglino, filed a complaint at the Territorial Center for animal abuse, so that the Justice Department opens a case against the company.

In addition, they ordered the Bromatology Department of the Municipality to carry out an urgent control of the sanitary and safety conditions in the refrigerator from which the pig escaped. “Once we learned of the fact, from the cameras of the video surveillance system, we reported the fact of animal abuse that occurred in the public street and we hope that Justice will act according to the law,” the municipal Government Secretary explained in this regard.”
