A millionaire investment banker allegedly punched a woman in the face during a Pride event in Brooklyn Saturday night.
Video shows the man violently punching the woman in the face in front of partygoers enjoying Brooklyn Pride in Park Slope.
The woman then falls to the ground before the man, who’s wearing a jacket that appears to have some kind of wet substance down its back, walks off after the apparent assault.
Users on social media identified the assailant in the video as Jonathan Kaye, a managing director who leads the business services franchise Moelis & Co.
The bank released a public statement that read “We have become aware that one of our employees was involved in a serious incident in Brooklyn on June 8. We take this matter very seriously and are conducting an investigation.”
An anonymous source close to the situation said the situation kicked off after Kaye told the group they were “on the wrong side.”
The group then doused Kaye with a red liquid before he fell or was “chest bumped” to the ground, according to the source. The source further claimed Kaye’s ankle was bloodied following the fall.
The video shared online doesn’t show the events leading up to the punch, but Kaye can be heard replying to outraged bystanders heckling him after the incident: “She fucking threw shit all over me.”
