A 39-year-old mother and her 20-year-old daughter were killed after a truck ran a stop sign in Mexico — after which a taxi collided with the truck sending it bashing against the two women.
A 2-year-old grandchild was also struck but managed to survive.
“In Saltillo, Coahuila, the driver of a truck ran a stop sign and ended up hitting a mother and her daughter. The events occurred at 5:00 p.m. yesterday, November 13, on Miguel Barragán Street, in the La Minita neighborhood.
A security camera captured the event. In the recording it is seen that the person responsible, identified as Daniel Coronado, was driving a white Chevrolet truck towards Miguel Barragán Street.
When he reached the intersection with Pedro Ampudia, he ran the stop sign, so a taxi hit him, causing the truck to lose control and end up hitting a mother who was coming with her daughter and granddaughter.
According to the local press, the victims are María Guadalupe, 39 years old; Perla Esmeralda, 20 years old, and Kimberly, 2 years old.
Because the women were going to sell cans at a recycling center, María Guadalupe ended up trapped next to the little devil she was carrying to transport the metal containers, so she quickly lost her life.
For their part, Perla Esmeralda and the minor who was in a rideable stroller were also injured. Like her mother, her daughter was pinned by the truck.
The only survivor was the girl, who was trapped under the truck.
After the strong attack, neighbors in the area called the Red Cross to assist both the mother and the daughter and the minor.
However, because the two adults had lost their lives, only the minor was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Likewise, the emergency services took a woman who was inside the taxi to the hospital, as she had injuries.
According to local media, due to the death of the mother and daughter, local authorities arrested Daniel Coronado, who is the driver of the vehicle that caused the incident.
It is detailed that the State Attorney General’s Office will initiate the pertinent investigations.”
