Oklahoma City police officer opens fire on armed man who pointed gun at him
OKLAHOMA — Oklahoma City police released body cam video following a tense standoff in which an officer fired his gun at an armed man.
At around 8:30pm on December 8, Oklahoma City Officer Andrew Ash responded to the Alora Apartments, along N.W. 63rd, following a reported disturbance.
When he arrived, he met 40-year-old Antwon Hill in a breezeway.
The body camera footage shows Hill reaching for something in his pocket. Moments later, he pulled out a handgun and pointed it at Officer Ash, investigators said.
Ash fired his gun at Hill, who was not hit.
At that point, Hill barricaded himself inside an apartment, prompting an hours-long standoff with police, but eventually surrendered and was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
