A driver is dead and another injured following a head-on collision involving two trucks in Indonesia.
“A traffic accident occurred on the Bojonegoro-Babat route, Lamongan this morning, precisely on the main road of Ngemplak Village, Baureno District, Bojonegoro.
This accident resulted in one person, the driver of a Colt Diesel truck with police number AB 8280 AC, Akhmad Sarifudin, from Kalibangkang Village, Kebumen, dying at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck with police number K 9024 AD, Riyanto (46), from Timbrangan Village, Gunem District, Rembang, suffered injuries.
From the statements of witnesses to the Bojonegoro Police Traffic Unit officers, the accident allegedly occurred because the truck driven by Sarifudin was sleepy, so it swerved to the right and collided with a tronton truck from the opposite direction. The collision of the two vehicles was quite hard.
Head of the Bojonegoro Police Traffic Unit’s Gakkum Unit, Ipda Septian explained that based on statements from witnesses at the scene, the chronology of the incident was as follows:
“Initially, the Colt Diesel truck was traveling from Bojonegoro to Baureno. Because it was sleepy, the truck swerved and hit a trailer truck,” said Ipda Septian.
Both trucks were badly damaged, so the evacuation process had to use a tow truck. After that, the vehicles involved in the accident were temporarily secured at the local Traffic Police office.”
