TEXAS — Houston PD released bodycam video Tuesday of a police chase that ended with officers shooting and killing the suspect.
Police said the shooting happened shortly before 11:30am on November 11 when Harris County Precinct 4 deputies tried to stop Elliot Lewis.
According to police, Lewis led officers on a chase with speeds nearing 100 miles per hour. Police also said Lewis was behind a shooting at Precinct 4 Constable’s Office earlier that week.
Houston Police Swat members made a plan to block Elliot in at the shopping plaza off the North Sam Houston Parkway — which proved to be successful.
But when his vehicle came to a stop, Elliot got out of the car holding a rifle.
Bodycam video shows multiple officers shoot Elliot from different angles who died of his injuries.
An innocent bystander was also injured during the shooting when bullet fragments hit his ankle.
