Police release bodycam video of Tulsa officers fatally shooting 16-year-old

OKLAHOMA — Police released body cam video of Tulsa officers fatally shooting 16-year-old Isaiah Perez who allegedly robbed someone at gunpoint last month.

Isaiah Perez, 16, was shot and killed on February 4 near the corner of Birmingham Avenue and Tecumseh Street following a 911 armed robbery call at PLS Check Cashers, 1447 N. Lewis Place, according to the Tulsa Police Department.

Police said Perez reached for a gun in his waistband, which prompted the officers to shoot him. Video shows two Tulsa officers shoot at Perez more than 15 times, who subsequently fell to the ground.

Officers performed first aid until EMSA arrived, but Perez succumbed to his injuries.

Tulsa police wrote in one of the videos released Friday that the victim said the suspect took “no more than $25” from him. Perez had $22 on him when he was shot.

A handgun was also recovered at the scene.
