SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Police have released body camera footage showing the moment an officer restrained a juvenile outside a McDonald’s on North Michigan Street after a dispute over a food order.
The incident began Friday when an employee called 911, reporting the juvenile had become aggressive, threatened workers, and refused to leave.

Bodycam video shows the officer directing the girl across the street when the situation turned physical. The officer grabbed her clothing, and both ended up on the ground as she pushed and struck at him.
Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski defended the officer’s actions, saying he used only enough force to calm the girl down and get her safely into a patrol car. The department said no taser, pepper spray, or punches were used.
The incident sparked debate online after clips of the struggle circulated on social media.
