Police release bodycam video of officer-involved shooting in Troy

OHIO — The Ohio Attorney General’s Office released bodycam video Wednesday of the moments leading up to an officer-involved shooting in Troy last October.

The incident took place at around 9:30pm at Hobart Filler Materials on South Kings Chapel Drive.

Police were called to the scene by a former employee over reports of shots being fired outside of the business.

37-year-old Ty Thomas is accused of firing those initial shots and later leading police on a pursuit that ended with getting shot multiple times.

Video shows police attempt to contain and block Thomas’ truck at a dead end. Thomas then rammed a police cruiser before several officers discharged their weapons.

Thomas suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He has since been booked in the Miami County Jail and is being held on a $250,000 bond on charges of failure to comply with order of a police officer, discharging a firearm near a prohibited premise, and using weapons while intoxicated.
