VIDEO: A 20-year-old Detroit graduate of the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy was found mutilated on a beach in Mexico.
According to reports, police responded to the Playa Chac Mool beach after the man, identified by his family as Alejandro Gonzales, and a 28-year-old Mexican woman were swept out to sea while swimming Sunday evening.
According to the family, the woman was caught in a riptide and Gonzales swam out to save her. The woman was found unconscious, though Gonzales was missing.
After an intense search lasting more than 72 hours, Civil Protection lifeguards located his body on the shore, just over a kilometer from where the disappearance occurred.
Preliminary reports indicated that the body showed visible mutilations: both arms and one leg were missing, and the torso showed signs of advanced decomposition, possibly due to the marine environment.
