Video shows security guards beating a man who reportedly bit one of them outside of Hush nightclub in NYC.
Police say they were called at 1:15am on Sunday morning to the club at 348 W52nd Street after Chantis Parks, 39, complained that he had been struck multiple times.
Cops at the scene observed that he had swelling to the right eye and minor scrapes to both knees. He was taken to Mount Sinai West for medical evaluation.
Police then arrested Vallan Menzies, 48, from the Bronx, and charged him with assault. A cross-complaint was made — and Parks, who lives on W52nd Street in Hell’s Kitchen, was also arrested and charged with assault.
Bar owner Bob Fluet said in a statement, “We are investigating exactly what took place and the cause of it. It’s obviously not something we would ever expect. We have an independent outside security company that employs the security guards. We have had them removed from our venues until the review is complete.”
Fluet said: “Initial reports were that this person came to the venue only to confront the security guard and bit him in the face, triggering the event. However, this is not justification for what transpired and we insist that all guards be trained in de-escalation — but that was definitely not shown here.”
