PHILADELPHIA — A security guard was caught on video beating a 51-year-old passenger at SEPTA’s Arrott Transportation Center in Frankford.
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon following a verbal argument, according to SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch.
Surveillance video shows an Allied Universal security guard, who is contracted by SEPTA, pummeling the man to the ground.
The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The guard immediately fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Busch said that guard will not return to the system.
The incident happened just weeks after SEPTA extended its $1.5 million contract with Allied Universal to station guards along the Market-Frankford Line.
